The poll involved 177 book experts from 56 countries, creating a captivating list celebrating children&#8217;s literature&#8217;s power and enduring impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Underappreciation of Children&#8217;s Literature<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Children&#8217;s literature often is underappreciated. Many parents may acknowledge its importance in fostering imagination and instilling a love for reading at a young age. Yet, children&#8217;s books are unfortunately considered second class compared to other literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children&#8217;s literature possesses a unique power to captivate and educate young minds, shaping their values, broadening their horizons, and fostering empathy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children who develop a love of reading at a young age are more likely to become strong readers for life. Not only do good reading skills benefit students academically, they are also a skill <a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordlearning.com\/encourage-good-reading-habits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">required for lifelong success<\/a>. Reading:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> Develops vocabulary, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increases attention span, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Promotes stronger analytical thinking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, by underestimating children&#8217;s literature, we fail to recognize its impact on shaping the future generation, empowering young readers to become curious, empathetic, and critical thinkers.
