{"id":3172,"date":"2016-04-15T14:46:10","date_gmt":"2016-04-15T14:46:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oxfordlearning.com\/act-study-tips-for-acing-the-act-sat%e2%93%a1-study-tips-for-surpassing-the-sat\/"},"modified":"2025-07-02T16:02:33","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T16:02:33","slug":"ace-act-surpass-sat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oxfordlearning.com\/ace-act-surpass-sat\/","title":{"rendered":"ACT Study Tips for Acing the ACT &#038;  SAT\u24c7 Study Tips for Surpassing the SAT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The SAT\u24c7 (Scholastic Assessment Test) and ACT (American College Testing) tests are arguably the most important tests of your teen\u2019s life\u2014the results can play a major role in determining their academic future.<\/p>\n<h4>Did you know&#8230;<\/h4>\n<p>Students who plan on taking these post-secondary entrance tests require at least 60 hours of prep time in order to maximize their performance once test day arrives?<\/p>\n<h2>Stats on SAT Studying and ACT Studying<\/h2>\n<p>Here\u2019s some stats that remind us just how important proper studying for these tests are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only 43% of SAT test-takers score high enough to meet college success standards <a href=\"https:\/\/sundial.csun.edu\/72299\/news\/a-new-study-shows-that-sat-leaves-many-students-unprepared-for-college\/\">source<\/a><\/li>\n<li>28% of all graduates did not meet any of the ACT\u2019s College Readiness Benchmarks<\/li>\n<li>4% of SAT\u24c7 takers achieved a score between 2100\u20132400, the latter of which is the highest score<\/li>\n<li>1.92 million ACT test takers scored a 20, which is the lowest possible score to be be competitive for entry into college<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With so much content and endless concepts to comprehend, it can be difficult to know where to start studying for these major tests\u2026 We have some suggestions!<\/p>\n<h4>Preparing for the Tests:<\/h4>\n<p>Amid those 60 hours of studying, be sure to complete multiple practice tests and take prep courses to help keep you on track.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Begin early.<\/strong> Teens have a lot on their plate, so the earlier that they begin studying, the better they can balance studying with regular schoolwork and other time commitments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tailor the approach<\/strong>. Focus studying on the subject areas that require the most attention.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learn various test-taking tips<\/strong>.
